Libraries
Kyung Hee University Central Library was founded in 1951 with 700 books donated by Dr. Young Seek Choue in a temporary building in Busan amidst the Korean War. The current Central Library building on the Seoul Campus, famous for its majestic architecture and masonry, was completed on June 13, 1968. The library also hosted the second conference of the International Association of University Presidents in 1968. As of April 2023, the library houses over 1.58 million books, 43,000 digital items, and 3,300 study seats.
The main facilities feature a rotunda―a central round hall with outstanding architectural beauty, reference room, periodicals room, conference room, group study rooms, computer lab, 3D library room and 6 study rooms. In addition, four branch libraries including Law Library, Medical Library, Korean Medicine Library, and Library of Graduate Institute of Peace Studies (G.I.P.) provide specialized information resources and services.
