Kyung Hee’s path toward “Creation of a Civilized World” and “Academe and Peace”

In the last 74 years, Kyung Hee has walked the path of “Creation of a Civilized World” and “Academe and Peace.” The University has been writing its own history of contributing to the peace of the human race while pursuing excellence in academics and practice. Kyung Hee's journey of opening a new path to civilization and a better humanity has always aspired for a better future.

Through that endeavor, Kyung Hee has further solidified its status as a university contributing to a sustainable future. We have led the transition to future education through the innovation of the academic system. Following the establishment of a development plan for the science and engineering field, which serves as a blueprint for the development of the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics field, a convergence technology research center was established to lay the foundation for problem-solving convergence research and education. Academic collaboration in diverse fields is being strengthened in a university culture of mutual consideration and respect.

In 2024, the University will celebrate its 75th anniversary. We are preparing for the upcoming “100 years of Kyung Hee” (centennial of the University’s foundation in 2049). We are living in an era of civilizational transition where technologies such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence are transforming humanity at an unprecedented rate, and conversely, humans are threatening society in general and the Earth at an incredible speed and scale. In this period of fundamental seismic change, we plan to build our own innovation model based on the Kyung Hee spirit of “Creative efforts, enterprising spirit, and constructive cooperation” in order to take a new flight of imagination and vision.

As the importance of “creation” has become greater than ever due to the deepening uncertainty on the future, the establishment of a new, valuable, and unique creative culture also becomes eminently critical. It is time to expand the horizons of the “Civilized World” and move forward by inheriting and developing Kyung Hee’s unique history and tradition of building a better future for individuals, society, and the world, and a creative journey of transitional civilization. We will open the future of a “true university of future” creatively, progressively, and constructively. We will imagine and create the path together with our members. Thank you.
